This page contains flow data for the Poudre River from a variety of sources and charts them on one page. The chart can be zoomed by click/drag or pinch/zoom highlighting or via the form buttons below. See cameron_snow for snow reports.

In the form below you can enter a flow from the Hewlett Gauge.
It'll convert it to Feet on the Rock when you hit "enter". The
equation is less accurate at flows below ~300 and probably likely
will lose accuracy above ~3200. It's broken below say 100cfs or
whenever the Rock would read less than 0.1 feet.
For reference, the current equation is: Notes on Usage
Main Stem Calc = Canyon Mouth - N.Fork below Seaman
Ideally it reflects the flow on Bridges and
up and correlates with the Hewlett Gauge. Unfortunately there
are two downstream diversions without gauges that complicate it.
Late in the season when diversions are active, this calculation
tends to be inaccurate.
Main Stem Calc High = Joe Wright + Long Draw + Laramie
River tunnel
It is missing the outflow of Little South,
Chambers Lake, and others like Barnes Meadow. Late in the
season when diversions are active, this gives a more accurate
calculation than does "Main Stem Calc".
Hewlett (CFS) to Rock (Ft) Converter:
Caution: The gauge changed a bit earlier, so this equation isn't holding up well...
extra = cfs < 100 = 1.8
extra = cfs < 150 && >= 100 = 1.5
extra = cfs < 500 && >= 150 = 0.5
extra = cfs >= 500 = 0.35
rock = 1.8391 * ln(cfs) - 0.9629 + extra
